We have partnered with them to host events at our river entrance on Belle Meade Farm — bringing their expertise in outdoor hospitality and historic James River experiences directly to our property.
We provide the land — 106 acres of Virginia Century Farm on the James River. The James River Batteau Company brings the hospitality, the storytelling, and the magic. Together, it's one of the most unique event settings in central Virginia.

This summer, the James River Batteau Company hosts their signature outdoor dining experience at Belle Meade's river landing for the first time. An evening under the stars on the Scottsville horseshoe bend — string lights overhead, the James River reflecting the last light of day, live music, and the stories of the batteaumen who navigated this very stretch of water for centuries.
